In 1995 a Ventura family, Dave and Midge Stork, experienced a horrifying event when their 17-year-old daughter, Su, was involved in a near fatal auto accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury.  Life as this family knew it would never be the same.  Searching for ways to procure more services and provide for their daughter and others who were facing the same challenges, a grass-roots organization was formed.  In 1998 the Brain Injury Support Group became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and in 2008, we changed our name to the Brain Injury Center (BIC), expanded our mission and services to include all of Ventura County and began collaborations with community partners to provide a bridge in services to this underserved and underinsured population.
